This Was So Much Fun and Great Results, We are putting it on the Calendar for March 9th!
This was so much fun and with great results, we are doing it again March 9th! Save your spot now. Paint Your Own Barn Quilt
What's a Barn Quilt? A larger piece of wood painted to look like a quilt block. Typically they are very large and usually are placed on the exterior of a barn, house, garage or shed. Barn Quilts began in the early 2000's in Ohio and now many states have Barn Quilt Trails you can follow, including Shawano County in Wisconsin. Our barn quilts will be the size of 20 inch by 20 inch. Most barn quilts are painted with simple geometric shapes, like squares, rectangles and triangles. They usually are painted in solid colors. The simplicity in shape and the vibrancy of solid colors make these blocks easily seen from afar AND it makes they easy to create. Don’t have a barn? A screen porch will do. No Experience is necessary for this workshop. All materials provided-you just need to get it home in your car.
Saturday March 9th 9am-2pm Bring or get some lunch. Family groups can work on one.

Wander the Back Roads of Wisconsin and You'll Start to Notice
What's a Barn Quilt? A larger piece of wood painted to look like a quilt block. Typically they are very large and usually are placed on the exterior of a barn, house, garage or shed. They were originally created to honor mothers, quilters, and the tradition of quilting in different heritages.
Painted on a smooth board-the barn quilt usually only highlights one quilt block. Wander the back roads of Wisconsin, take that country winding road and you will see one, two, and notice the amazing barn quilts thru the state.

The design was created by a middle school student and many teens at Bayview helped in the process. It adds a bold splash of color to a much used stairway at the center.
